Citizens Movement to Impeach Bush/Cheney

The "Citizens Movement to Impeach Bush/Cheney" was formed in Olympia in 2006 after a showing of "How to Impeach the President".  They conduct public education campaigns, weekly sidewalk protests, and lobby local, state and federal elected officials to encourage them to adopt resolutions calling for an impeachment investigation.  In February 2007 they hosted a town hall meeting that brought 850 people to hear experts Elizabeth de al Vega, David Lindorff and Ray McGovern speak on impeachment. They are currently engaged in a petition drive and support House Resolution 333, which calls for the impeachment of Dick Cheney, as the necessary first step in restoring the Constitution.  Their website is www.citizensimpeach.org

Speaker Gail Johnson is a former analyst for the U.S. Government Accountability Office in DC and a professor in Public Administration.  Currently Gail is a contributing writer to "Works in Progress", a progressive community newspaper based in Olympia, found online at www.olywip.org.  She is also writing a book on the first generation of women governors.

Speaker Lee Gilchrist is a retired computer software analyst who has been active in the anti-war movement since the Vietnam War. Lee worked for several years on trade issues with the "Community Alliance for Global Justice" in Seattle and was also the listserv moderator for the Kucinich Presidential Campaign of 2004.
